Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of AutoKnow (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. What AutoKnow is — and is not
AutoKnow is an informational pre-purchase screen that analyses a car listing's photos and description against model-specific knowledge and returns an evidence-cited report. It is not a physical pre-purchase inspection (PPI), a mechanical warranty, a valuation, or a guarantee, and it is not a substitute for a professional inspection. Always commission a physical inspection before you buy. We flag anything the photos cannot show as needs-PPI rather than guessing.
2. Accounts
You sign in with a magic link sent to your email. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access to your email secure. You must provide accurate information and be at least 16 years old.
3. Checks, credits, and the Shopping Pass
A "check" unlocks one listing. Credits are purchased in advance and, except where stated otherwise, do not expire. A Shopping Pass grants checks within a fixed time window. One credit unlocks one unique listing; unlocking a listing that has already been analysed may be served instantly from cache at no additional analysis.
4. Payment and the money-back guarantee
Payments are processed by Stripe in the currency shown at checkout (AUD unless stated). Prices may change, but changes do not affect credits you have already bought. Money-back guarantee: if a check you paid for finds nothing actionable, contact us at hello@theautoknow.com and we will refund or re-credit it.
5. Acceptable use
- Use the Service only for your own genuine pre-purchase research.
- Capture listings only from pages you are authorised to view, one at a time — no bulk scraping, automated crawling, or resale of reports.
- Do not attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or abuse the Service or its rate limits.
6. Intellectual property
The reports we generate for you are yours to use for your purchase decision. The Service, its software, and its knowledge base remain our property. Listing content and photographs belong to their respective owners; we process them to produce your report and do not claim ownership of them.
7. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is". A report reflects only what the supplied photos and description show and the model-specific knowledge applied; it may be incomplete or inaccurate. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from your reliance on a report or from a purchase decision. Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other non-excludable consumer protections. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to re-supplying the Service or refunding the amount you paid for the relevant check.
8. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms. Unused credits may be refunded at our discretion on account closure.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Disputes are subject to the courts of Australia.
10. Changes
We may update these terms; we will revise the "last updated" date and, for material changes, notify you. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
